Buying A Yacht

Yachts and Yachting have always been popular among the rich and influential but if you want to buy a yacht without the huge price tag then there has never been a better time to buy.

Due to the stunned global economy, there are hundreds of deals to be had if you are looking at yachts for sale.

Yachts are the best way to travel around the globe if you ask me; they offer all the comforts of home with all the freedoms that come with owning a boat so just how do you go about finding the right yacht for you?

Firstly you need to decide on a budget, think carefully about how much you want to spend as this may limit you to the types of yachts that you look at.

Next start to do your homework; you should only start looking when you have all the facts; this will also stop you making impulse buys. Decide on what material you want your yacht to be built out of. Do you want steel, wood or even Ferro-cement?

Finally you need to make a list of features that you would like and features that you need. Do you want a project where you can fix the boat up yourself or are you looking for a yacht that is pretty much ready to sail as soon as you take ownership?

As I stated earlier there has never been a better time to buy a boat or yacht, demand has dropped by 80% meaning sellers both private and dealer are having to drop their prices. A recent sale saw a cruising yacht that had an original price tag of $1 million sell for just over half that price at $599,000.

As the global economy sees a slight upturn, if you can afford to buy a boat or yacht now is the perfect time to do it because you can be assured that as soon as the markets pick up, so will the price of yachts. Picking a yacht up now could prove to be a good investment.
